If you are a beginner quilter, you could start sewing and quilting on a sewing machine for $100 or less. If you want an outstanding workhorse machine that is dependable, durable and won’t let you down then think about the JUKI TL 2000 Qi. I have one of those $100 or less machines that I quilt on. While it does ok it is nothing compared to this machine. This is the sewing machine of my dreams. Automatic threader, extra large throat space for quilting, need I say more? I’m sold. Lightening Speed

When you start a project there are at least two things you want your sewing machine to do. Sew fast and make it easy. The JUKI TL 2000 Qi does both. Whew! 1500 stitches SPM. Can you imagine? Your projects could get done so much faster. Before you get behind the driver seat you may want to take this for a drive but it sounds like you better buckle up because it is so fast. You can sew slower if you need to but the speed alone is enticing. It gets a high rating from some famous quilters though for just this one feature. BTW, I don’t get any financial gain for promoting and telling you about this dream machine…just a little drooling going on here.

Automatic Threader

This one feature alone sells me on this machine. I hate having to squint and try time after time to guide my thread through the eye of the needle, hit and miss and hit and miss 50 times. No more wasting time getting right to your project. Definitely a nice feature on this JUKI sewing machine. I give a big sigh here (haha).

Thread Tension Adjustment

My machine has many issues when it comes to thread tension issues. It has always been a struggle to find just the right tension when I sew on my machine so I am constantly adjusting. Even with that, it may or may not adjust like I need it to. With just the turn of a dial on the JUKI sewing machine the quilting fairy godmother can wave her wand (just kidding) and help you adjust your tension according to your sewing needs at the time. It’s pretty convenient.

Excellent Straight Stitch

Although this machine only sews a straight stitch, the quality is hard to beat. You can quilt with a straight stitch. Really when quilting you don’t need a lot of fancy stitches. This one will do you proud and it can be enough for your quilting needs.

Free Motion Quilting, Needle Down & LargeThroat Space

I quilt on my simple basic machine but I have to quilt my quilt blocks in sections because to quilt a large quilt isn’t possible on my machine. I tried free motion quilting recently on a Halloween wall hanging I was doing and loved how the stitching turned out but it took me quite awhile to finish it. I couldn’t quilt the whole thing at once because my throat space wasn’t wide enough. Shout out here to more pros for the JUKI TL 2000 Qi because of all it offers in quilting friendliness.

The throat space is extra large. It has a whopping 23′ area to sew in. You can fit large quilts in that space and turn your whole quilt this way and that to quilt the pattern you need to on your quilt.
The needle control is uncanny! You can stop sewing and the needle will stop in the down position so you can adjust your quilt and turn it as needed. Manually you can move your needle up or down according to what you need it to do.

Knee Lifter Lever

One of the distinctive features of this machine is a knee lever. Have you ever been in the middle of a quilting project and you have to use your hands to raise and lower the pressure foot? It kind of messes up your flow. With this special lever, your hands can hold your project and your knee can lift the pressure foot for you. Pretty nifty accessory if you ask me.

Cut Thread Two Ways

The JUKI TL 2000 Qi has two ways of cutting your thread making it so convenient. There is an automatic thread cutting button that cuts both the top and bottom bobbin threads. Maybe you have heard people talk about being able to cut your thread with your pressure foot. Yep! That’s what I said with your foot. You press back on your pedal with your heel and easy as that you cut your threads. There is a bit of a caution here. It is so easy to cut threads that you have to be mindful of not accidentally pressing back on your foot pedal if you aren’t ready to cut your threads. The pros hands down out weigh the caution here.

Large Quilt Friendly

I know we talked a bit about this already but I think it bears repeating. You can quilt small quilts, medium size, and large quilts on this handy dandy machine. It is like having a long arm quilting machine but you do the quilting. It saves you time (sews fast and quicker to quilt than quilting by hand) and money because you can quilt your own quilt instead of sending it to a long arm quilter. Plus all the little extras helps make quilting more enjoyable and more professional looking.

Easy to remove and easy to return to where it belongs. This helps save you time and frustration.
